Top 10 trending Silk Painting Techniques in 2019

Are you returning to painting after a long time? Do you want to pursue a new hobby? You may want to nurture your artistic skill by starting off with silk painting. Here are the top 10 trending silk painting techniques in 2019:

Blending
The most basic silk painting technique is blending. This technique is handy when the painting requires shades and colours. Move the brush around parallel to the shape of the object. Make sure to use colour combinations you desire and use them at equal distances. Draw a thin line and watch it blend and spread on it’s own.

Salt silk painting:
You can use many sequels for a decorative feel and sight. One such decorative is salt. Casually run your paint or dye over the required areas and while the paint is still wet, sprinkle some salt over. Using salt will help give some really pretty textures in the background, especially when the background is a darker shade. 

The Anti spread process:
Like any ordinary method here the use of the appliance is key. While applying take note of the size of the brush and the thickness you aim to achieve. The anti spread process aims at using the brush in different directions to prevent the spread of the paints over certain exclusive areas. This method can also be helpful for colourful patterns.

Marbling: 
Marbling over silk surfaces is one of the most unique and impressive techniques. Silk paint colours. You could indulge in painting small cards and move up to monetising your skills in such techniques on cloth. Marbling is interesting. You need to lay the paints on the surface of water filled in a vast container. Give the floating paints a shape/design using the rare end of the paintbrush or other tools. Then, lay the middle of your fabric first gently onto the surface for a few seconds. Lift the fabric off and let it dry. 

Microwave silk painting techniques:
Working with water based silk paints is a tricky process. A Silk painting kit could help you choose your paints. The painting method requires rinsing the silk cloth in white vinegar mixed with warm water. Then remove the cloth and pour the desired coloured dyes. Keep the cloth in a microwave bowl with a cup of warm water in the dish, place the lid on top and microwave it at 200°C for 2 minutes . Finally, dry the cloth and iron it. This process is useful in abstract designs for beautiful scarves and veils.

Gutta painting:
Gutta painting is like a henna outlining on the hand. Gutta is essentially the apparatus used for silk painting. It consists of a metallic tip with a bottle filled with glittering paint or a dark dye. The contents really depend on what you’re painting and what you choose. Wax/ Batik technique: 
This method requires the usage of wax. To start of you’d require an embroidery ring or a frame to keep the area of painting tight. Use various shapes and sizes of cardboard cutouts or stencils for the designs.To apply the wax you can use a glue gun, a paint brush or even a wax pen that is available in any advanced silk painting kit. After applying the wax run the paint over the entire surface and you’ll see that the parts where the wax was used will stand out. 

 

 

Alcohol method:
The alcohol method is primarily used by artists over regular paint. All this process does is that it gives the painting a blended and smooth texture. You just need to apply alcohol over the area you desire. Usually it’s used for dreamy backgrounds. Dip the paintbrush in alcohol mostly any white drink and paint dab over the painted surface. This is also used to carve designs by wetting the dried surface.

Block painting: 
Like any other block painting even silk block block painting requires precision. You may want to purchase stamps or blocks with different shapes and sizes. Dip the block in dye or paint and run the blocks over the cloth randomly or at equal distances. Choose the design you desire. After this you could also run the paint brush with different colours around the shapes.

Fencing technique:
Learn the art of fencing silk painting by enrolling yourself for the silk painting classes. Fencing simply means giving the silk cloth a definite outline with colour resist. Follow a procedure for all the silk painting techniques. Firstly, sundry the cloth and then wash the cloth in hot water. Then, Iron the cloth making sure the heat isn’t reaching directly. You’re final product is ready!
